Baseball News

I got the following news from a reliable source. (I know it sounds like one of those friend of a friend of a friend’s hairdresser deal, but hopefully it is not). A friend of mine is a coach in the Lynbrook school district. He is friends with another coach who knows someone who has a nephew that has a position in the front office of Major League Baseball.

He shared the following with his uncle concerning the whole steroids issue:

Raphael Palmeiro had tested positive months ago. But MLB held onto those results and did not release them until recently because
1. they did not want it to interfere with the Hall of Fame Inductions and
2. they did not want it to interfere with his quest for his 3000th hit.

Palmeiro

But that is old news at this point. More importantly he shared the following:

There will be (sometime in the near future) 2 more revelations of positive steroid results. One in the AL and one in the NL. The one in the AL is a possible future Hall of Famer and will be quite the story. BUT, the one in the NL is a guaranteed Hall of Famer and, once it comes out about him, it is supposedly going to “rock the foundation” of baseball as a whole.

Unfortunately, according my source, the nephew in the front office could not even tell his uncle who these individuals were. We spent some time trying to guess, but who knows for sure.

If this friend of a friend story turns out to be true, things should get interesting in the Major Leagues!! I wonder who they might be?…ClemensBondsRamirezOrtiz

I know this is a serious topic but couldn’t they have picked a better acronym??

Okay, I hope I did this correctly. Here’s some news from home.
