The Women of Football

(Wikipedia)(CBS Sports)

You might like to hear a game broadcast by John Madden or Dick Enberg (ohhh myyyyy), but it’s those sideline reports that give you the up to the minute injury reports and go inside the locker rooms to discuss strategies.

Bonnie Bernstein works for CBS with their #1 team of Phil Simms and Jim Nance. Sam Ryan is the regular on Monday Night Football.

Even football non-amerciano star Heather Mitts has been seen roaming the sidelines for college games (she has been tied to NFL QB AJ Feeley). It definitely is more enjoyable to watch them then to listen to Bill Mass (no mas).

Hingis Ends Retirement

Martina Hingis is returning to professional tennis — again.

The former top-ranked player, who retired from the WTA Tour three years ago because of an ankle injury, won five Grand Slam singles titles in her career and was the youngest player to be ranked No. 1. Martina Hingis retired in 2002 at the age of 22 after winning five Grand Slam titles.

“I was never happy that my injuries cut my career short and ultimately forced my decision to step away from tennis,” Hingis said Tuesday in a statement. “I have enjoyed my time away from the court. However, I miss the game and the challenge of competing at the highest level of tennis and I want to gauge whether I can stay healthy and compete against today’s top players.” - SI.com

She retired so early. Glad she’s back. She’s only 25 so she can still play..Mary Pierce is 5 yrs older and has actually gotten better!

Instant replay very likely at ‘06 U.S. Open

Instant replay probably will be used at next year’s U.S. Open to resolve disputed line calls.

Tournament committee member Jim Courier put the chances of the Open using the technology at “90 percent,” and said implementation of the replay is overdue in the sport.

Hawk-Eye uses cameras to track a tennis ball’s trajectory to help check disputed line calls. It’s been used in television broadcasts but not as an officiating aid. - MSNBC

Xbox 360s shipping on a weekly basis

In order to combat the circulation of incorrect information, Microsoft’s Major Nelson has confirmed, via his blog, that the Xbox retail team is sticking to a weekly replenishment strategy. However, the Major can’t speak for specific retail outlets. That is, despite weekly shipments from MS, retailers that accepted pre-orders might still be backed up until next year. However, if a retail employee tells you that the store won’t be getting units until March, that employee is either misinformed or lying. Bottom-line: if you keep a close watch on your local Best Buy or Walmart, you’ll score a 360 before year’s end. - joystiq

(Wendy’s)

The commercial features a number of multi-pattied burgers flexing to Mr. Benassi’s beats much like the lights of a graphic equalizer or a spectrum analyzer.

I just saw this commercial on sunday. Its pretty good idea! Music is great!

Bruce Lee statue

Bosnian youths unveil the statue of late martial arts legend Bruce Lee in the southern Bosnian city of Mostar, 26 November 2005, as a symbolic protest against ethnic division. The statue honouring late martial arts legend Bruce Lee was vandalised hours after it was unveiled in this southern Bosnian city, police and witnesses said.

Lee was chosen as a hero that all ethnic groups could relate to in a city that remains bitterly divided after fierce fighting between Croats and Muslims during the country’s 1992-95 war.- Yahoo News

Thats not fair! Its only a statue he can’t fight back. Don’t hit a man when he’s down or frozen in carbonite!

Look what happened to our favorite sweethearts!!!

November 23, New York — A month after Us Weekly first reported on the breakup of Newlyweds Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, the couple has jointly announced an official separation. ‘After three years of marriage, and careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways,’ the couple tells Us in an exclusive joint statement. ‘This is the mutual decision of two people with an enormous amount of respect and admiration for each other. We hope that you respect our privacy during this difficult time.’ Us Weekly first reported the couple’s split in its October 17 issue; at that time, Lachey’s publicist issued a denial of an official separation. Just last week, Lachey partied alone with pals in Miami, on November 22, he attended the American Music Awards without his wife, one day after the New York Post reported that a porn star was peddling a seamy story about her night with Lachey (Lachey’s attorney has denied any impropriety). Tellingly, at the AMAs, Simpson’s father Joe Simpson told an Us reporter of his daughter’s ongoing media scrutiny, ‘We are Simpsons, we take a lickin’ and keep on tickin’.’
