Spike TV’s Video Game Awards December 10th at 9pm

Join Samuel L. Jackson, Jedi Master and host of Spike TV’s Video Game Awards 2005, for game-on-game competition December 10th at 9pm (ET/PT).

The talk in industry circles is that video games may soon overtake movies as the most popular and profitable form of entertainment. But until that fateful day when the Oscar turns into a gold-plated joystick, Spike TV’s recent Video Game Awards show — which already took place, but will be broadcast on December 10 — should fit the bill.

While the VGA retains many of the award show standards — a few big-budget blockbusters that dominate the list of nominees, celebrity appearances and announcers to get the crowd hyped — it does feature a few unique award categories, including Best Performance by a Human, Cyber Vixen of the Year, and Most Addictive Game Fueled by Mountain Dew, the last of which we give the Buzz Award for Most Blatantly Cheesy Use of Advertising Dollars in an Awards Show. - Yahoo Buzz Index
