Frustrated by the complexity of a megadeal for Manny Ramirez, the Mets have ramped up their discussions involving Barry Zito, and the club already has inquired about the possibility of signing him to an extension as part of any trade with the Athletics.

With that in mind, the Mets continued their efforts last night to move Kris Benson, discussing a trade with the Royals that would bring a relief pitcher, Jeremy Affeldt or Mike MacDougal, to Flushing. A baseball official with knowledge of the talks described the trade as “imminent” at one point, but another said a deal was not close as of late last night. - Newsday

Jessica Alba, Elijah Wood, Wilmer Valderrama, Mark Ruffalo and couple du jour, Nicole Richie and DJ AM, each designed their own cool and unique version of the already colorful Sony VAIO FJ series laptops. Some celebs, like Alba, went all out; others, like Ruffalo, went with a theme. Each is a one-of-a-kind.

the celeb laptops will tour the country, appearing in SonyStyle stores in Los Angeles at the Beverly Center (11/15 to 11/25), Houston at the Galleria (11/28 to 12/09), New York City at the Sony Plaza (12/12 to 12/24), and Las Vegas at The Forum Shops at Caesars (11/26 to 1/09).
