Comedian Richard Pryor Dies

Actor-comedian Richard Pryor, who helped transform comedy with biting commentary on race and his own shortcomings, died on Saturday at age 65 after a long illness, his wife told CNN.

“He was my treasure,” Jennifer Pryor said in a telephone interview. “His comedy is unparalleled. They say that you are not a comic unless you imitate Richard Pryor. … He was able to turn his pain into comedy.”

Pryor’s wife said he died of cardiac arrest at 7:58 a.m. PST after her efforts to resuscitate him failed and after he was taken to a hospital in the Los Angeles suburb of Encino. Pryor had been suffering from multiple sclerosis, a degenerative nervous system disease, for almost 20 years. - Yahoo News

One of the legends of comedy… Probably the biggest influence to Dave Chappelle, Eddie Murphy, Kris Rock, Jamie Foxx..the list goes on.

PainKiller Jane

Painkiller Jane is a comic book heroine created by Jimmy Palmiotti and Joe Quesada for Event Comics in 1995. Originally a 5-issue miniseries, the character went on to star in numerous cross-over titles with the likes of The Punisher, Vampirella, and Hellboy. - Wikipedia

Based on the Event Comics series, SCI FI and MGM Worldwide Television once again partner, this time to bring to life a virtually indestructible super-heroine for the new millennium, Painkiller Jane.

This action-hero series is based on a young marine officer, Jane Browning, who is exposed to a biochemical weapon that changes her genetically, endowing her with incredible self-healing powers. She becomes an ultra-covert agent fighting crime while struggling to remain free from those who would now use her gifts for sinister purposes. - TV.com

Looks cool! Reminds me of Dark Angel awhile back that starred Jessica Alba.
