Giants picks summary
Giants picks (Rounds 1-3)
Mathias Kiwanuka, BC
Pick: 1st Round (32nd overall)
Vitals: DE, 6-5, 268
What you should know: A speedy pass rusher who’ll provide insurance in case Michael Strahan, Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck all get hurt. Has Jevon Kearse-like speed, but needs to get bigger. Was dominated by Jets’ first-round pick D’Brickashaw Ferguson in Senior Bowl. His grandfather was Benedicto Kiwanuka, former Ugandan prime minister who was killed in 1972 by Idi Amin.
Sinorice Moss, Miami
Pick: 2nd Round (44th overall)
Vitals: WR, 5-8, 185
What you should know: He’s not the big receiver the Giants prefer, but he could turn out to be the fastest. And considering all the trouble they had covering Sinorice’s brother, Redskins receiver Santana Moss, last season, the Giants know little guys with big speed can get the job done.
Gerris Wilkinson, Georgia Tech
Pick: 3rd Round (96th overall)
Vitals: LB, 6-3, 233
What you should know: He’s big enough to play inside and quick enough to play outside, making him an ideal backup for a unit with many injury issues. He also gives the Giants a young linebacker to develop in case LaVar Arrington or Carlos Emmons aren’t around in a couple of years. - NY Daily News
