Marat Safin First Round

Pics I took of Marat Safin at Louis Armstrong Stadium…

Marat is one of my favorite players to watch. If he wasn’t always getting hurt, he’d win more. He needs to get 100% healthy again. He beat Federer at the Australian Open semis in a 5 set match in 2005 and went on and beat Hewitt in the finals. He also beat Pete Sampras at the U.S. Open in 2000. Known as a jokester on the tour.

Ana Ivanovic First Round Match

A Few of the photos I took at the Grandstand Stadium of Ana Ivanovic. She’s a favorite to win.

I played my first round match today. It definitely wasn’t my best tennis but I am pleased to go through to the next round. I’m always a little bit nervous before first round matches and today was no different. I think something would be wrong if you weren’t a little bit nervous for the first round of a Grand Slam, because it means so much to a player.

CNN’s Kyra Phillips Forgets to Turn Off Mic

Sent in by Mike…pretty funny!

Today, CNN’s Kyra Phillips got caught, well, with her skirt down. Someone in CNN left her mic open and on the air as she went to the loo in the middle of President Bush’s speech commemorating the Katrina anniversary. So instead of getting the president’s remarks, CNN’s audience got that and Phillips in some girl-chat.

Jessica Simpson’s “Public Affair”

Jessica Simpson is embarking on a not-so-public affair – with singer-songwriter John Mayer, PEOPLE has confirmed.

“She’s tiptoeing back into the dating world,” a source tells PEOPLE. “It’s the first stage. She’s never been happier.”

Mayer, 28, began a co-headlining tour with Sheryl Crow on Aug. 24, and Simpson, 26, is expected to attend his concert in Jones Beach, N.Y., on Wednesday night. - People

John Mayer will also appear on “CSI,” but he’s sticking with what he does best. Mayer will have a cameo on the series’ two-part season premiere (airing September 21 and 28 on CBS) in a scene set in a Las Vegas club. He’ll perform the tracks “Waiting on the World to Change” and “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room” from his latest album, Continuum, due September 12. - MTV

More downpours postpone more than 50 matches

Rain disrupted play for a second day at the U.S. Open on Tuesday, postponing more than a third of the schedule.

More than 50 matches were postponed, including Maria Sharapova’s evening opener. Showers and a shaky forecast pushed back a remembrance of Hurricane Katrina on the one-year anniversary to Wednesday.

A 3½-hour delay to the start plus two subsequent suspensions forced players off the courts without a single match near completion. - SI.com

We didn’t even bother going! sux! Better not rain today!

Ne-Yo is not Sexygay

Ne-Yo’s publicist is flatly denying claims that the singer will announce that he’s gay during a New York press conference this week and in an upcoming issue of Essence magazine. An e-mail purportedly including quotes from the interview and attributed to a woman named Barbra Stradoff at Essence has also been circulating. “It’s completely false,” a Def Jam representative said. “There’s isn’t a staff member by that name at Essence, nor is Ne-Yo going to be featured in the October issue of the magazine.” - MTV

He’s not gay. He just has a weird looking (LL Cool J) head. Thats why you’ll always see him with a hat.

What’s FutureSex/LoveSound?

“FutureSex/LoveSound.” The track thumped the speakers with its “Another One Bites the Dust”-like staccato beat, lyrical nods to INXS’ “Need You Tonight” (”All I need is a moment,” “Slide over here”) and sexually suggestive come-ons (”Tell me which way you like that”).

Sex stayed on the brain throughout the listening session — after all, it’s the focus of at least half of FutureSex. Timberlake reminds us that he’s a sex god, boasting “She’s going home with me tonight” in “LoveStoned/ I Think She Knows”; that he’s going “from Casanova to supernova” in “Damn Girl”; and reasserting that claim, saying it might “sound cocky, but it’s not really cocky if you know it’s true” in the chunky, funky “Sexy Ladies.”

But there was a sweet side to the album as well — the LoveSounds influence — which is most obviously found on the electro-Southern hip-hop of “My Love,” the slow jam “Until the End of Time” and “What Goes Around Comes Around.” The latter song sounds like it could fit alongside “Cry Me a River” on Timberlake’s Justified debut, with its drop rhythm and intricate call-and-response backing vocals. - MTV

Its good! The first track sounds like a Depeche Mode track. “My Love” is a faster Cry me a River sounding track. “Damn Girl” is worth a listen too!
