Eva Longoria and Tony Parker split?

For nearly two years, Access Hollywood has been the third wheel in Eva Longoria and Tony Parker’s relationship.

And as stories begin to circulate that the couple has split, we separate the real story from the rumors.

Unfortunately, right now, it appears as if gossip about trouble in the couple’s relationship may in fact be true.

In a statement to Access, Eva’s publicist says “Tony and Eva are going through a very difficult time right now just like any other couple with very demanding schedules.” - MSNBC

* Update: Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria and San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker have split up, a source close to the couple tells PEOPLE.

“They did break up. It’s amicable,” the source says, adding, “They are talking and trying to figure the best course of action for their future. They are trying to work things out.” - People

Robert Downey Jr. Is Iron Man

“Marvel has picked Robert Downey Jr. to play billionaire-turned-metallic superhero Iron Man, AKA Tony Stark, in the John Favreau-directed comic adaptation slated for 2008.

First film will deal with Stark’s invention of the Iron Man suit and his conflicted past as a weapons inventor.”

Favreau may have up to $165 million to play with, and what director wouldn’t spend as much as he can get? Production is to begin next February.” - Rotten Tomatoes

Beltran’s blast ties 3 marks

Last night, the centerfielder hit his 41st homer, a solo shot in the sixth inning of the Mets’ 7-4 victory, which allowed him to tie three club records.

The homer into the lower deck in right tied Todd Hundley’s single-season record set in 1996. It gave him 80 extra-base hits, matching Howard Johnson’s mark set in 1989. And the homer produced Beltran’s 123rd run, equaling Edgardo Alfonzo’s 1999 record. - Newsday

Cuban: Only a ‘moron’ would buy YouTube

Billionaire investor and dot.com veteran Mark Cuban had harsh words for YouTube, the online site that lets people share video clips, saying only a “moron” would purchase the wildly popular start-up.

Cuban, co-founder of HDNet and owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, also said Thursday that YouTube would eventually be “sued into oblivion” because of copyright violations.

“They are just breaking the law,” Cuban told a group of advertisers in New York. “The only reason it hasn’t been sued yet is because there is nobody with big money to sue.” - CNN Money.com

“Madden Curse” Strikes Again

Madden 07 cover athlete Shaun Alexander has suffered a cracked bone in his left foot, once again proving that the Madden Curse is real.

The history of the so-called Curse goes back to the 2000 edition of the game, when the Detroit Lions’ Barry Sanders shared the cover with John Madden. Sanders retired before training camp, so that year’s cover athlete wasn’t even on the field. In 2002, that year’s cover athlete Daunte Culpepper struggled and had his season cut short by a knee injury. The 2003 cover featured Marshall Faulk, who, after suffering an ankle injury, failed to rush for 1000 yards and never did so again in his career. Falcons quarterback Michael Vick, who graced the 2004 cover, fractured his right fibula the day after the game was put on store shelves. Last year, quarterback Donovan McNabb had a troubled season, with a sports hernia in the first game and the Eagles underperforming in every possible way. - GameSpy

Report: T.O. attempted suicide

Flamboyant Dallas Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens tried to kill himself by overdosing on pain medication, even putting two more pills into his mouth after a friend intervened, according to a police report obtained Wednesday.

The Dallas police report said Owens was asked by rescue workers “if he was attempting to harm himself, at which time (he) stated, ‘Yes.”‘

The report said the 32-year-old Owens told his friend “that he was depressed.” Details of the police report were first reported by WFAA-TV. - SI.com

At first I thought Donovan Mcnabb put E. coli in his campbell soup

* Update - But according to The Fort Worth Star-Telegram and The Dallas Morning News, Owens’ publicist Kim Etheredge has denied reports of an attempted suicide.

Etheredge attributed Owens’ statement to rescue workers that he was attempting to harm himself to the fact that Owens was groggy after mixing pain pills with supplements. She also said that Owens did not have his stomach pumped at the hospital and did not vomit. - Fox Sports

Shockey criticizes Coughlin after Giants’ loss

New York’s volatile tight end criticized coach Tom Coughlin after the Giants fell behind by 35 points early before losing to Seattle 42-30 on Sunday.

“We got outplayed, and outcoached. Write that down,” Shockey said.

Asked what he meant by outcoached, Shockey said, “You saw the game.”

“I think when Eli gets to call his plays, get his formations, I think we play better football, when he gets to decide a little bit more than just the set play and then you get to go for it,” Shockey said. “But you can’t play always in a no-huddle situation.”

Why not?

“You’ve got to go by their plays,” Shockey said. “They’re the coaches. They get paid money. They call the plays. Every coach out there is trying to help everybody to move the ball and help his team win. You can’t just go out of no-huddle all the time.”- FoxSports
