300 - The Art of War

300 - The Art of War
“Snyder is one of a small, hypertechnical fringe of directors who are exploring a new way to make movies by discarding props, sets, extras and real-life locations and replacing them with their computer-generated equivalents. Cinema has always had a tenuous connection to reality; they’re severing it almost completely. It’s a technique loosely known as “digital back lot.” George Lucas was a pioneer, as was Kerry Conran, the lonely genius responsible for the much praised, little-seen Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. In Robert Rodriguez’s cult hit Sin City (also based on a Miller graphic novel), practically nothing is real but the people. It’s not so much cinema as synema. And it’s creeping into more mainstream movies: in Blood Diamond, a tear was digitally added to Jennifer Connelly’s flawless cheek, after the fact, to put the exclamation point on a crucial scene.”

Q & A with the cast of Heroes

Heroes Cast
Tony Potts: How do you avoid the backlash LOST has faced, where it seems to take forever to get any answers?

Tim Kring: We had the advantage of coming along after some of these shows and seeing the frustration level that the audience had. We were able to maneuver our show in a slightly different way. NBC Parodies ‘Heroes’ With ‘Zeroes’

Did you see the Heroes spoof on YouTube? It’s called Zeroes, and it features a familiar voice talking about regular people with “Pointless Abilities”. For example, one guy can ripple his stomach and a girl can put her entire fist in her mouth. You get the idea. It’s worth a chuckle or two.

The video short got more than 1.5 million views on YouTube. Minze seems to be one of the few marketing guys who “get it”. He knows that people aren’t going to YouTube to watch advertisements or promos (unless they’re exceptionally creative). - TV Squad

Dolan, chairman, Madison Square Garden and president and CEO, Cablevision Systems Corporation. “The Knicks have grown tremendously, both in terms of team performance and player development, and much of the credit goes to Isiah and his staff.”
