Yee-rohs!, Gee-rohs!, Jee-rohs!… My Sweet Escape

I can’t get enough of them Gyros!

Gyro is probably the most often mispronounced food name. Even its fans usually do not get the pronounced correctly - whether it is mispronounced as “jee-rohs,” “jai-rohs,” “gee-rohs,” The correct Greek pronunciation is “yee-rohs.”

What’s up with the white sauce? The white sauce typically served with Gyros is tzatziki sauce. Its made of strained yogurt, cucumbers, onions, and garlic. Sometimes they call it Cucumber sauce. in New York, I think they just give you sour cream.

Iron Man - Mark III Suit

Iron Man's Mark III Suit
‘Faithful to the comics and constructed by Oscar-winning F/X maestro Stan Winston, the Iron Man togs — a far cry from Stark’s normal black-tie attire — are robo-cool but make for restrictive, sweaty duds. ”Robert was very bullish on wearing the suit whenever possible,” says Favreau of his star, who bulked up for the role. ”Now I don’t know if he’s such a fan of that idea.”’

Is Oscar De La Hoya the best boxer of our generation?

Oscar De La Hoya
“The anointing of the greatest fighter of our generation is not as harrowing as stepping through the ropes, but it is, in itself, a dangerous business. One of the beauties of boxing is that it is not statistic-saturated, leaving the barn door wide open for a wide divergence of passionate opinions on the matter. In some eras, the title has been relatively clear: Joe Louis in the late 1930s through early ’40s, Sugar Ray Robinson in the ’50s, Muhammad Ali in the late ’60s and ’70s, and Sugar Ray Leonard through the ’80s.

The post-Leonard era has been a bit murkier. A few fighters have emerged through the fog and shown brightly under the big lights — Pernell Whitaker, Julio Cesar Chavez, Roy Jones Jr., Bernard Hopkins, Lennox Lewis — but thrones are made for one, and none has yet ascended high enough.”

Future Patrelli Fights Like Neo In String Theory

‘Heroes’ doesn’t mess around like ‘Lost’ does. ‘Heroes: String Theory’ was one of the sickest episodes I’ve seen! Probably the best one! Looks like ‘Heroes’ is paying tribute to the ‘Matrix’.

Did the scene where Peter and future Hiro stormed the government building lobby remind anyone else of the lobby shootout from The Matrix? That had to be intentional. They were even wearing Matrix-esque clothing. Look at that coat on Peter. It’s so Keanu. The scenes were cool and a nice homage, but I couldn’t help but feel a bit disappointed by them. When your setup is the same as the one that spawned one of the greatest action scenes ever filmed, you set the bar pretty high for yourself. I thought I was going to get an epic throwdown, but the budgets of TV clearly made that impossible. - Best Week Ever

Federer, Nadal do ‘Battle of Surfaces’

One is the king of grass, the other the king of clay. On Wednesday, Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal will be king of both.

Four-time Wimbledon champion Federer plays two-time French Open winner Nadal in an exhibition on a customized half-clay, half-grass court on this Spanish island.

“It’ll be fun to find out what it’s like to play on a court with mixed surfaces,” Federer said Tuesday. “And it ought to be interesting to see who chooses the better tactic.” - ESPN
