‘Grand Theft Auto IV’ Delayed

Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. on Thursday cut its 2007 sales forecast and said it would post a full-year loss, before one-time items, because it needs more time to complete its highly anticipated “Grand Theft Auto IV” video game.

The company’s shares slid 8 percent in extended trade following the announcement.

The game, which had been scheduled for release in October, is now planned for release in the fiscal second quarter of 2008, Take-Two said.

In a statement, Take-Two Chairman Strauss Zelnick said “certain elements of development proved to be more time-intensive than expected.” - Reuters

Pedro Feels Fine

This time, the starter was relieved. Pedro Martinez said he felt good after 5 1/3 innings of a simulated game against Mets Rookie League and Class A players this morning. He got off to a rough start, but finished strongly-strongly enough to think he might have some season left.

“I feel fine. I feel normal and that’s the biggest gift of today,” he said after having thrown 67 pitches (50 of them for strikes), allowed two runs on four hits, struck out three and hit one batter at Tradition Field. - Newsday
