Last Time For Lastings

Thanks Mike for the update…

The Mets have traded Lastings Milledge to the Nationals for catcher Brian Schneider and outfielder Ryan Church, a baseball official confirmed this afternoon. Milledge was believed to be a major chip in the Mets’ pursuit of an elite starting pitcher this offseason, but that apparently was not the case.

Schneider, 31, will now take over in the catching tandem with Ramon Castro, only a week after the Mets traded for Johnny Estrada. Schneider is expected to be a defensive upgrade to Estrada, who is now almost certain to be released. Schneider hit .235 with six homers and 54 RBI last season.

Church, 29, will be added to the mix in rightfield. He batted .272 with 15 home runs and 70 RBI in 144 games for the Nationals. - Newsday

‘Shrek The Halls’ Tonight 8pm ABC

Wednesday, November 28 at 8/7c

Featuring the voices of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas

Just when Shrek thought he could finally sit back, relax and enjoy his happily ever after with his new family, the most joyous of all holidays arrives. It’s Christmas Eve and everyone is filled with holiday cheer — except for Shrek. He isn’t exactly the picture of yuletide joy, but for the sake of Fiona and the kids, he tries to get into the spirit of things as only an ogre can. Unfortunately, everyone seems to have their own ideas about what Christmas is all about, so when Donkey, Puss In Boots, Gingerbread Man and the whole gang try to join in on the fun, Shrek’s plans for a cozy family celebration end up spiraling into one truly unforgettable Christmas.

Sampras Beats Federer In 3rd Exhibition Match

Federer is not going to disrespect his idol and embarrass him, so he gave him one. :)

Pete Sampras showed Roger Federer another side of his American idol on Saturday.

Sampras never faced a break point and converted one of two against his opponent as he handed Federer a 7-6 (8), 6-4 defeat at the Venetian Macao arena, wrapping up a three-match Asian exhibition series between the two tennis greats.

“It’s been tough beating my idol the last two times. I’m happy that he got me at least once,” he said, but adding, “I hope we can do it again in the future. I’d like to get him back.”

Federer beat Sampras 6-4, 6-3 in Seoul on Tuesday and edged the American 7-6 (6), 7-6 (5) in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday. - SI
