Kelly Tilghman Wants To Lynch Tiger Woods
American cable television network The Golf Channel has suspended one of its presenters for two weeks for making a racially sensitive comment on Friday at the expense of world number one Tiger Woods.
Anchor Kelly Tilghman, a former playing professional, joked in a telecast with Nick Faldo that players bidding to challenge Woods might have to “lynch him in a back alley”. - Reuters
Sampras VS Federer @ Madison Sqaure Garden - March 10th
Roger and Pete are scheduled to square off on Monday March 10 at Madison Square Garden. Presale has already begun. Officially tickets go on sale tomorrow at noon.
Tickets range from $50 - $1000. I already checked it out. The $50 dollar seats are in the 300 section. Not too bad.
Federer will net $1 million for the exhibition match against retired Pistol Pete, who beat him last year in an exhibition in Asia. It will be the first tennis match at the Garden since the WTA circuit’s season-ending championship departed seven years ago. - NY Post
Microsoft’s Xbox Blu-ray Support?
“It should be consumer choice; and if that’s the way they vote, that’s something we’ll have to consider,” Albert Penello, group marketing manager for Xbox hardware said when asked whether Microsoft would support a Blu-ray DVD accessory in the event that HD-DVD failed.
The Xbox 360 supports a plug-in HD-DVD accessory that is bought separately, while Sony, hoping to give its next-generation video format a leg up, built a Blu-ray player into its PlayStation 3 machine. - Reuters
MS can just make a blu-ray external drive for the Xbox 360, but I don’t think they care about the format war just the console wars, which they are winning.
Warner’s Warner Bros. had been supporting both formats, but announced Friday that it would release exclusively in Blu-ray starting in June. BLu-ray is NOW in the lead, which makes me believe MS will start supporting it. Luckily I only bought 2 HD-DVD discs!
