Santana Traded To The Mets!
Ok the pain of the Mets regular season collapse has finally come to an end today! (Actually it was gone, when the Giants beat the Cowboys
)
The Minnesota Twins reached a tentative agreement Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, to trade Johan Santana to the New York Mets. After months of deliberation, the Twins agreed to send the two-time Cy Young Award winner. Looks like the Mets didn’t give up much. Like who is Deolis Guerra? Phil Humber and Kevin Mulvey have been slow developers so far. And don’t we have a Carlos Gomez clone named Fernando Martinez?! I’ve been also hearing that It is very possible they could sign Santana for just 5 years. Thanks Omar!
Santana, who turns 29 on March 13, went 15-13 with a 3.33 ERA and struck out 235 batters in 219 innings with the Twins last season.
Be sure to watch SNY’s SportsNite at 10 pm when they talk about the Mets recent trade for Johan Santana from the Twins.
The Mets and Twins are in agreement on a trade to send star pitcher Johan Santana to New York, contingent upon them agreeing with Santana on a multiyear deal, SI.com has confirmed.
The Mets agreed to send young outfielder Carlos Gomez plus pitching prospects Phil Humber, Kevin Mulvey and Deolis Guerra to Minnesota, providing they can lock up the two-time Cy Young award-winning Santana to a multiyear deal and he waives his no-trade veto powers. - SI
Hope the twins don’t send him like this…haha…
